The Scouts of 4
Founded in 1917, Troop 4 is one of the oldest Boy Scout Troops in America. In 2013, along with the Cub Scouts of Pack 4, the Troop suffered the heartbreaking loss of their previous home of nearly a hundred years. This loss forced current and past Scouts and leaders to seek a way to secure the legacy of this great organization. Friends of 4 Tampa, Inc. was formed to take on this mission.
Troop 4 is currently home to 75 active scouts and is one the largest in the Greater Tampa Bay Area Council. The Troop recently earned the Council’s Gold Standard for its 2019 Journey to Excellence. The Scouts travel the country to high-adventure bases, hike the Appalachian Trail, and attend both Summer and Winter Camps. They won 1st Place in the Fort Brook District Battle of the Troops.
Pack 4 currently serves 80 active scouts from grades K through 4, having recently sent 14 new Boy Scouts to cross over into Troop 4.
Troop 4 has been responsible for awarding the Eagle Scout Rank to more than 335 of Tampa’s finest young men since 1917. Men, who as adults have led and shaped our community in dramatic ways.
For the future of our youth and our community, this is the legacy that you can preserve and protect.
Will you help ensure this continued success for the next 100 years?
